It's a Marathon And Not A Sprint!

I was listening to one of my favorite marketing mentors in
the car earlier today and he reminded me of a very important
fact about business.

It applies doubly so to online business.

What this mentor said was that success is a marathon and not
a sprint.

I know we all know this, but sometimes it's important to
remember it and to really take it to heart in all that we do
. . . especially in today's fast paced world.

We want everything here and now.

Instant gratification is the name of the game.

And so that is how thing are sold to us . . . Especially on
the Internet.

We get bombarded by messages that tell use that this or that
is the instant solution to whatever problem we need to
solve.

The reason why is . . . it WORKS!

It gets us to take action and buy.

This is good in the sense that we can use this to our
advantage from a selling perspective (One of the BIG topics
discussed in "Internet MLM Success"), but when buying we
have to realize that no matter what we're being presented
with their will be WORK involved.

I've bought and tried just about anything and everything
online that promises to help me make money quickly and guess
what?

For the most part it's good information, but none of it has
lead to instant wealth in my life.

While the experiences gained while trying all these
different things did give me a hard earned education that
has taught me how to run a business online and it has put
money in my pocket.

It was actually the experience over time along with the
information that turned into revenue.

If you treat your business like a sprint and you jump into
every business opportunity because you think that if you
just get in early and push hard that money will fall in your
lap you'll fail every single time.

Rather real success online or with network marketing comes
from consistent and persistent focused effort aimed towards
your ONE goal! (It's different for each of us.)

For instance . . .

Internet network marketing is my chosen niche for a reason.

I love the speed of results that can be created in an online
world, but I equally love the security and financial freedom
that a strong and thriving network marketing organization
affords.

I know that if I can master both internet and network
marketing that I will be able to grow a large thriving
network marketing organization FASTER than if I do it solely
offline.

But . . .

Even at this I know that it's a marathon and not a sprint.

My team and I have worked consistently for the past 9 or so
months and now we've got over 2718 people as part of our
group.

These numbers are the type of numbers that only a true
network marketing master could boast of creating in the
offline world in the time frame stated, but if anything I
want you to realize that I had NO prior network marketing
success. . .

I just put the pieces of the puzzle together and then helped
others do the same.

If I can do this so can you.

I'm just a guy with ONE goal, a plan of action, and team
full of great people who all understand that network
marketing is a business of delayed gratification.

The big money comes in years 3 to 5 and we know this.

I've made a commitment to myself and my team to stick with
my ONE company for at least that length of time working
consistently and persistently towards my goal.

So stop and ask yourself right now . . .

Are you committed enough to your business and your future
that you would devote the next 3 to 5 years of your life to
it to see big results?

Network marketing can give you more freedom in your life
than you can ever imagine if you just approach it as a
marathon and not a sprint. The dream is true and it's there

A Leap Of Faith

I told you a few days back that I had something very
exciting that I wanted to share with you.

Well today is the day!

A month back at an internet marketing conference I listened
to a presenter that told the story of his success online.

He told us that he started his internet marketing business
some 19 moths back with $0 and nothing to his name and now
he predictable earns over $100,000 a month!

This was amazing to me but really blew me away was that he
said that he predicted that at this time in the course of
his business online that that is exactly where he would be!

"WHAT!"

That totally blew me away.

I mean . . .

How could someone go from $0 to over $100,000 a month and
without a shadow of a doubt know that he would be at that
point in his business in that exact time frame?

Well . . .

He showed proof and then gave a few of his secrets away and
even that was mind blowing to me. I mean it was the type of
stuff that you can't buy in books and you can't learn unless
someone directly explains it to you.

Some of the stuff that this guy talked about was way out in
the left field compared to everything that I had learned
about internet marketing.

If I read this stuff in a book I would probably say "yeah
righ!" and brush it off.

But being the opened minded and ever experimental individual
that I try to be I went home and I applied some of the stuff
that he spoke of and . . .

It worked like crazy!

It made a believer out of me.

Well at that conference he offered a special small group
seminar where he would divulge everything that he did and
teach each member of that small seminar how to do it as well
in their own niche with their won business to produce the
same remarkably predictable results.

The price wasn't cheap by any means so I wasn't willing to
pull the trigger at that point, but once I got home and
applied his teachings to my daily business and saw the
results it produced I was punching myself in the stomach for
not taking him up on it.

As any good student does, I got on his mailing list to see
if I could pick up anything else from his style.

And as luck would have it he made the same exact offer to
his list of subscribers.

He said that he would take anyone with any business model
and teach them to duplicate his success.

Still the price was high so I spent the day pacing around my
house in anxious anticipation over whether or not I would do
it.

It wasn't until later that day when I was driving around and
trying to compare the investment to other comparable
investments that I had made in my life that I made a
breakthrough in this decision.

I immediately thought about the rental property that I own
and the price I paid for it and the return on investment it
produced compared to what the estimated return on investment
would be if I made the decision to go forward.

That did it.

The return on investment for what I was going to be taught
first hand in person was more than 1000% the return on
investment that I currently receive for my real estate
holding per month.

So in June I go to take my business to the next level and
you will be coming along with me!

Everything I learn and eventually master I'm going to bring
back home to teach you.

I hope this has you as excited as it does me.

My goal has always been to help as many people (My team
always comes first . . . wink) in the network marketing
field as I possibly can and this will be a giant step in
that direction.

So the morals of the story are:

1. Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone to
achieve the goals you have.

2. Even the craziest ideas work out better than the status
quo, so you have to keep an open mind at all time.

3. If a person that is further along the path to success
than you currently are is willing to teach you how to
achieve your goals quicker you have to take them up on it if
your goals really are your goals no matter what the price!

Take a leap of faith.

Internet MLM Retention Secrets! Part 2

Ok remember the questions?

Although ultimately you can't control who stays or leaves
your network marketing team there are some things that you
can do increase your retention.

If you do these things that we are about to discuss and
people still leave your team it's NOT your fault and there
is nothing more that you could have done to retain them.

(And I mean for the long term when I speak of retention
not a month or two.)

So how do you increase your team's retention rate?

1. Get people moving right from the beginning

As soon as someone new comes into your team give them
something to do. Get them active in their business. This is
important because it keeps them interested and starts their
momentum.

The first thing that I tell all of my team members to do is
download a copy of our team marketing guide. Read it. Mark
it up with questions. Get aquainted with the product. Right
out some questions that they may have and then get back to
their sponsor to set up a game plan.

This is a good route to take because it makes each person
accountable for their own success and it will quickly show
you who's serious and who's not. (The people that get back
in touch with their sponsor are SERIOUS.)

2. Be there

The next thing that you can do for your team to keep them
active is just be there. Give them your contact info and let
them know when it's acceptable for them to call you with
questions and for advice and then be there during that time
frame.

3. Hold yourself accountable

If you make a mistake or you don't hold to a time commitment
own up to your mistake make good on it and apologive. We're
all human and we all make mistakes.

4. Motivate

One of the most powerful ways to keep your team is to help
motivate them. There are several ways to do this, but here
are a few that I use.

If I have a success or if I try something new and it works
well I make sure to let the whole team know. For instance,
when I first started when I would run a successful ad
campaign I gave my team all the details of what I did, how I
did it, and how they could do it to.

If I have a team member that has success I try to let the
whole team know. If anyone on the team is doing great I make
sure to send an email out with a case study. I know I like
it someone highlights me as a success so it's good to pay it
forward as much as possible.

You don't have to have all the answers or be perfect, but as
long as you let your team know that you are there and you
are doing all that you can to help them be more successful
you will start to create a community of like minded
individuals.

Send your team emails that give them your thoughts, your ideas
for success, and your passion and they will see that your
cause is more than just money.

5. Create a community

The most important thing that you can do to help maintain
and increase your team's retention rate is to foster a sense
of community. Once you create a community around you both
above and below, you realize that you have much more than a
business - you have a thriving community of individuals that
are all striving for the same goal.

As a team we do weekly team online conferences where we all
can all interact personally. One of my team leaders even
started a forum!

Anything you can do to foster a sense of community will pay
for itself in spades over the life of your business.

(I also like blogs . . . Hint, Hint.)

So when I am asked the question . . .

I reply . . .

Support them and share anything you can to help them
to be successful and if you've done this you can't worry
about whether or not they stay or go.

The people that should end up on your team do and that's the
magic of it all.

It was a beautiful day here in Silver Spring in more ways
than 1. One of the most important ways will be the special
topic of discussion in a few days! (Just wanted to build a
little anticipation . . .)

On to today's message as promised!

Today we are going to discuss the important ins and outs of
retention in your Internet network marketing business.

I get asked this question all the time:

"Daegan . . . I just got a new sign up how do I make sure
they stay?"

I smile, partly because of my excitement for them but also
in part because of how green this question reveals this new
team member is.

Then I respond . . .

Some of what I am about to reveal may shock you and some of
it will prove to be just common sense, so pay close
attention.

Let me start by saying if I knew the definitive answer to
this question I'd be a billionaire right now:)

On a more serious note . . .

I think one of the biggest mistakes that we all make as
human beings in our daily lives is that we try to take
responsibility for things that are truly out of our control
and when they don't turn out how we expect we blame
ourselves.

If we could each just rid ourselves of this unneeded burden
I think we'd all live a much happier and fuller life.

I've fallen victim to this thought pattern myself and I
receive emails from people that fall victim everyday.

We all do it.

In my case, in my last network marketing experience, I put
out a whole lot of effort and cash out and didn't receive
anything for it. I blamed myself.

I thought that it was ALL my fault when in reality my
success or failure in this situation only partially had to
do with ME.


I assumed that I just wasn't good enough. I was putting out
all this effort so I thought how come IT wasn't working?

It must be me.

Well, the truth is it takes two to tango as they say.

My lead weren't biting not only because of me, but also
because the business opportunity that I was leading them to
was confusing and didn't appeal to them. (Which I didn't see
at the time.)

Some of the blame should have been placed on the shoulders
of the company and the way that I was taught to interact
with my leads, but living the situation the natural
assumption is to blame yourself.

I'll tell you right now if you're not having the sort of
success that you want to have it's NOT all your fault, so
let that big weight on your shoulders go.

I know your thinking. . .

"Daegan thanks for the input, but what does this have to
with retention in your network marketing business?"

Well it speaks exactly to the question of retention in this:

Whether or not your new team member stays or goes it's NOT
your fault. (Unless you actively make efforts to drive them
away)

Think about it like this . . .

Every decision you or I make is OUR decision and no other
person can change our mind once that decision is final.

If you choose to leave your current business is there
anything that your upline could do to keep you once your
decision is final?

Well it works the same way with your recruits.

Ultimately they make the decision of whether or not to stay
or go.

There is no magic formula to retaining your entire team, but
. . .

There are some things that you can do and sense this email
is getting long we'll talk about those tomorrow!

Failure Never Final

Since the last email yesterday our team has grown by 12
people!

I want to talk to you today about a very important
discussion I had with one of the member's of the Internet
MLM Success list a few days back.

This guy gave me a call out of the blue on Sunday morning at
9am and as always I answered with "Hello this is Daegan
Smith."

Larry introduced himself and told me of his frustrations
with his current business.

He said that he had been involved for 5 or 6 months and that
he had poured some $1400 into his business and it had only
netted him about 12 people on his team.

I personally thought that this wasn't that bad, considering
when I first started I put about $5,000 into my business and
netted 0 people on my team.

Before I could speak, he told his plan base on this
frustration and what he unveiled to me was literally one of
the smartest approaches to network marketing that I had ever
heard anyone come forward with.

He said that he had gone back to his sponsor for help on how
to improve his results and their answer was basically that
he should continue to pour large amounts his money into his
business and that eventually that things would work.

Larry wasn't satisfied with this answer so he made a
decision.

It was funny to me because his decision mirrored a decision
that I had made in my last run with network marketing some
two years back.

He told me that he wasn't happy doing business the way that
his sponsor did business and that they couldn't give him the
helpful answers towards the growth of his business that he
needed because he realized that they just didn't know what
else to tell him.

It wasn't the sponsor's fault.

They only knew one way of doing business and so that is what
they taught Larry.

Because their way of running their network marketing
business did not fill Larry's need he told me that he was
going to step down from his business and take six month's
off to prepare for his success in his own way.

I was floored.

I thought wow!
This guy finally got it!

To be a success you must prepare yourself.

It was apparent in our conversation that Larry knew what he
wanted and he wasn't going to let anything stop him from
achieving it.

In network marketing, we all fall victim to the seduction of
the dream at one time or another.

We see how much money we can make and jump in and head
first.

We get involved and then we say "OK now what do I do?"

We don't check to see if we are financially prepared to run
a business.

We don't stop to think if we have the time to devote to
running a business.

We just jump in emotionally charged "knowing" that somehow
success will find us.

What would happen if you got involved with a business only
after learning all the ins and outs of what it would take to
virtually guarantee success and then provide ample
preparation time to prepare for the success and growth to
come?

Do you think you would have a better chance at achieving
you're goal?

Never underestimate the importance of preparation.

Never Throw Your Money Away!

I'm back! Things got pretty hectic there for a while in the
process of setting up my team's co-op for the month, so I
had to take a couple days to get all that in order.

But never the less I'm back with a very important topic to
discuss with you.

I got an email from one of my team members a couple days
back I found very disturbing.

I usually do about a week of promotion in the process of
setting up my team's co-op and within this week I got an
email from one of my team members that said in paraphrase.

I didn't get much action last co-op, but I guess I'll throw
my money at it again to see what happens.

I was floored by this.

Not because she did not get much action.

Even in the perfect situation with an advertising co-op it's
very hard to make sure all results come out uniform in the
form of leads and sign ups.

There is always risk in advertising and I make sure to
reduce this risk as much as possible and inform my team of
all the ins and out's of a co-op.

What I was floored by was her attitude of just throwing
money at her business to see what would stick.

This is just plain WRONG!

Marketing a business is a process of trial and error to some
extend, but successful marketing is limiting your risk in
any way possible (i.e By doing things like tracking your
results.)

If you are having a roadblock in your marketing you
shouldn't just throw money at it and hope for better results,
rather you should analyze your results and ask the questions
"How can I improve?"

Only in doing this are you able to control the outcome of
your marketing efforts because in this frame of mind you are
constantly striving to lower risk and improve results.

The attitude of "throwing your money" at your marketing is
very hazardous.

You loose control because you are not thinking of ways to
improve and you eventually trap yourself in a state of
frustration for this lack of control.

NEVER throw your money at your marketing.

Rather . . .

Test then Track then Change then Improve.

Do You Know Your Numbers - Part 2

In the last email I sent I got into a preliminary discussion
about why your company's conversions statistics are so
important to the overall success of your business.

Today I want to dig into that discussion a little deeper.

If you know the conversion factors for your business you
really can set your path to success, but they're really a
whole lot more powerful than just this.

Here's why . . .

(I am going to be using the conversion statistics for my own
business as a roadmap for this discussion as they are the
conversion statistics which I am most familiar with.)

In my business I know that:

5 to 22% of the leads generated end up signing up for a free
trial in our business.

65% of those leads that come in end up becoming full fledged
active members.

24% of the free trail members will upgrade to a premium
level from the outset.

25% will duplicate

So by knowing these figures I'm able to really see clearly
and concisely what I have to do to grow my business at a
consistent pace.

There are no secrets. This is good because it takes away all
false expectations.

IMPORTANT FACT!!!

Most people that join a network marketing company online or
off set false expectations because they just don't know any
better.

For instance, I've heard on more than one occasion from a
new team member that they are going to go out and sponsor
100 people by the end of the month or they want to be at X
level by X date.

I always reply great!

But I immediately go into our business's conversion
statistics so that they can know exactly what it will take
for them to reach such a level in their time frame.

It's great to be excited from the outset, but most people
sugar coat the work involved with a high level of success
and the best way to shed light on what it will take for them
to reach their goal is to give them the cold hard facts from
the beginning.

But . . .

You can't do this unless you know them!

This is why it is so essential to know your numbers.

The truth is extremely powerful and even more important it
is essential to the success of every new member that joins
your business.

Without it they will almost always set false expectations
and when things don't work out the way they THOUGHT they
would from their own fanciful goals the get frustrated and
will most likely give up.

Further they will probably be upset with their sponsor for
not giving them the full story.

If you don't give every member of your team the truth based
on the numbers as soon as they walk through the door you
will be doing a great disservice to them.

Here's an equally powerful way that knowing the numbers can
serve you in your business growth.

If you hear of anyone on your team or within your company
that is using one marketing method to be highly successful
you can track EXACTLY what it has taken them to achieve
their success down to the dollar!

For example . . .

A while back I heard about a couple different ways that
people within my company where using to generate a high
level of success quickly.

Well if you don't know the numbers you would most likely say
to yourself.

WOW! That sounds like its working great! It's the "NEW" key
to success!

And you may run off to give it a try.

Most likely your results will not match the original user's
level of success and you'll say to yourself "What am I doing
wrong?"

Well the numbers never lie.

If you are armed with your company's conversions statistics
you can go and do a test of the new marketing method.

For instance, if this new marketing method cost your say $5
to generate a lead you will see that from this one piece of
information alone you can track a path all the way back to
the TRUE COST of success of the original user of the
marketing method.

How?

Well if it cost you $5 to generate a lead mimicking their
marketing method to a tee and it takes you 100 leads to
generate 10 new team members then you know that it cost them
$5 to generate a lead and have the same conversion ratio.

So you know if they grew their business by 50 people in one
month it most likely took them at the very least 500 leads
to generate this amount of business growth and that's with a
stellar high conversion rate of 10%.

So if you know it took them 500 leads to generate these 50
new team members you will quickly see that it cost them 500
times $5 which equals $2500 to generate this success.

So what looked like a no-brainer marketing method quickly
becomes something very different if you know the numbers
driving the success.

Now depending on your company this may be an acceptable
marketing cost for the response generated, but you only know
this if you know the numbers.

Remember the numbers never lie!

Do You Know The Numbers?

One of the keys to success in any business is knowing your
numbers.

Why?

They give you a concise and predictable roadmap to follow as
you grow and expand.

I know my exact conversion statistics for my business and I
use these to guide everything that I do.

When I have a meeting with my team I am ALWAYS sure to relay
these numbers to them because they are essential to the
success of every member of my team.

One of my biggest hang-ups from the days when I was less
than successful was not knowing the conversion figures of my
business, and to tell you the truth, when you spend your time
calling leads, at the beginning, it's hard to even keep
track of how reliable your figures are because you as a rep
directly influence them.

For instance, if you're having an off day while calling
prospects they'll pick up on it and this can drastically
effect your conversion in a negative way.

This is why I am such a large proponent for internet network
marketing.

The figures never change and they never lie becuase the
system does the selling NOT you.

I tell my team if they can generate 100 leads in the course
of a month they will at least recruit 5 new team members
into their business.

I know this because the numbers tell me.

Just knowing your sign up conversion ratio is just the
beginning.

Do you know your retention rate?

Do you know what percentage of people upgrade to the
premium level in your business?

Do you know how many people go out and duplicate your
results?

If you don't, your homework for today is to find out.

Once you know the numbers a clearly defined path to your
success will show itself to you.

Then all that's left for you to do is walk it!

Hate to hit you with yet another email, but your message is
right on target. I have a couple of MLM businesses and I'm
always embarrassed that I am not a mega-producer, $100,000
ring earner. But when I talk to other people and they ask,
"Are you making any money?" I can honestly say that I am.
Not as much as I feel I should be making, but they are
always surprised when I say, "Well, I only make about $500 a
month off that website." Everyone who has been in network
marketing is impressed when you make ANY money.

Thanks for all your words of encouragement. I haven't
called you yet for a person-to-person chat, but I am reading
your emails and quietly building a foundation.

When Are You A Success?

I took yesterday off for the holiday and came home to some
461+ emails to respond to, so if you've sent me an email
I'll do my best to respond, but this one is quite a doosy
for me so I may not get to answer them all.

Anyways on with today's message!

I spoke to a new member of my team last Friday and she was
having a little trouble.

She and I had spent the last couple weeks getting her Net

newbie so it was quite a task for her.)

While in the car earlier today I had the chance to listen to
Earl Nightingale's "Lead The Field". It is by far my
favorite audio course out of all of my collection. It's a
must have by for anyone and everyone who truly yearns to
achieve their potential in life.

Well . . .

Earl spoke about a very important point that made me stop
and really think deeply.

He said "Success is directly correlated to personal
attitude."

It's so simple, yet it's one of the most powerful ideas that
I have every encountered.

The first step to growing your network marketing business

Why?

Well as you will see once you get your business rolling
there is always a constant flux of people coming and going.

This threw me for a bit at the beginning. I didn't think
this far into the process at first but it's really amazing
to see.

There really is a revolving door.

And here is the truth that I've come to realize from this
process.

The whole process of network marketing is filtering.

An the beginning you're filtering leads from prospects.

Then filtering new team members from prospect.

Then once they're in you're filtering leaders from
complainers.

At the end of this process you end up with a team full of
leads and like minded people that you can depend on and that
can depend on you.

But as you can see there are a lot of layers to find these
few . . .

The funny thing is some leaders start out as complainers and
some complainers start out as what you think would be
leaders.

You really can't tell who will fall under what category. Only
time can reveal this.

So what does this mean to you?

You have to teach and train and support all your people
equally and do a lot of filtering, but in the end if you do
it right you'll end up with a tight knit team full of
leaders!

Your Burning Questions Part 5

This email took a little longer than expected to get out.
When you're a network marketer you have to support your team
in every situation possible, well that's what I had to do
toady!

But never to disappoint here is our final installment of
your most burning questions!

(Many more questions were sent in than I could answer. I
will do my best to answer as many of them personally as I
can. In this series I wanted to make sure to answer the
biggest questions so that's what we've done!)

How do I find qualified people that want to learn more and
have the money
to pay for it. Unlike myself that is struggling to exist out
here without a
job and running out of time quickly.

Everyone offers free ebooks, I have over 3000 of them but
they don't help unless you have money to advertise or have a
list. I have no list and no money how do I do this
opportunity.

My Question is HOW do I get interested people involved in
it. Without
spending any more money!!! Guru's do it because of who they
know, and JV's
together, not what they send us in BS and ebooks.

Very good question!!!

8 months ago before I started my network marketing business
I didn't have a list or any of the other benefits of what
someone would consider a guru.

So I can tell you exactly how to grow your business without
any prior leverage!

The simple answer is start marketing.

The first thing that I did to jumpstart my business was to
send out a few emails to some strong online publications.

The second thing that I did was I started a PPC campaign
with Google Adwords. These two actions brought me my first
50 or so team members.

So you can start marketing without a list and have success.

After this initial success it was simply a matter of
leveraging that success into bigger successes by teaching my
team exactly what I had done to get them so that they could
leverage my knowledge for our overall benefit.

Now you ask . . How can you do it without money?

Well what I did took money. About $232 to be exact.

How can you achieve success without money. Well, the first
thing that you are going to have to do is change your
perspective on your business.

If you are trying to grow a business on a $0 budget you are
going to have to devote some SERIOUS time and you should
expect this from the outset. There are ways to generate
traffic for free online, but they all take a great deal of
time.

If I were to go into marketing my business with no money
online I would devote 100% of my efforts to writing and
distributing articles on a large scale. I don't mean writing
one article a week and distributing it to 5 article
directories I mean writing 10 to 20 articles a week and
distributing them to at least 30 article directories a piece
every week for at least 2 months.

With that sort of out put I would generate a moderate
response. Not the level of response that I speak about
above, but I would generate some measurable success that
would grow virally over the course of time.

Now here are the downfalls to going in on a $0 budget. It's
not that duplicable. You are not going to find many people
who can or are willing to put out this sort of an effort to
see results, so if you are going to go in with no money are
going to have to be knowledgeable about paid advertising as
well because this is what your new recruits will gravitate
towards.

People want results fast and there is no way to do that
without money or without a list so you are going to have to
show them where they can spend their advertising dollar to
generate measurable results in a decent amount of time if
you are going to keep their interest in growing their
business.

It can be done on a $0 budget, but you are still going to
have to know how to teach people to effectively advertise
with money.

the office I do the following:

2.check emails
3.return phone messages

This is a great question! I truly applaud you on it!

Here is what I do on a daily basis to run my business.

Remember I am still doing everything part time like most
other people out there so my time is limited.

When I get up in the morning the first thing that I try to
do is answer as many emails as I can. Usually I devote an
hour to this task.

The next thing that I do is I see if have any new leads in
my business to follow up on. If I do I will attend to that
task because it usually goes hand in hand with email follow
up.

The next thing I do is I ask what I can do to better help my
team grow?

Is there anything that I'm doing wrong? Is there anything
that I can improve?

I jot down these notes and try to attend to them during the
course of the week.

After this I try to send out a message to either my team or
my internet mlm success subscribers or both if need be. This
task can take an hour or more if I'm writing a couple
emails.

Then I go to work.

When I return home I check my email to see if there are any
pressing matters that need to be attended to and I respond
to the emails that I've sent in the morning.

It is usually at night when I set up and track new or
ongoing advertising cmapaings so this is when I attend to
this task. This can take either no time or quite a bit of
time depending on the task.

If there are any eBooks or new idea to learn I also try to
do this in the afternoon to see what I can add or augment in
my personal business plan.

Finally throughout the day I speak to and try to help those
people that call me for either downline training or
questions about joining my business. Usually I try to tell
people to call between 6 and 8pm but I get calls from all
over the world so it ends up being an ongoing task
throughout the day.

That's about it!

A lot goes into my days, but it's routine now and once
something is a habit it becomes second nature.

If they are curious enough, then I could offer them the

The work I do, does not allow me to get out much, so the

I have many people that ask me this sort of question all the
time and the answer is exactly what you stated in your
question.

You have 2 options as I see it.

1. You can create a lead capture page to grow a list of
subscribers interested in your general niche and then
develop a relationship with them. Then give them the
opportunity to call you since you have to do things "face to
face".

2. You can create a product that speaks to the need of your
market so that you have the opportunity to qualify your
leads by having them first purchase from you and then when
they submit their payment information you can give them a
thank you call where you introduce your business in a "face
to face" situation.

Your company may stipulate how you promote their product,
but they cannot stipulate how you promote yourself and your
services so use this as leverage.

But your biggest question is still left unanswered at this
point. You will need to create your own website to do either
of these two options and if you don't know how to do this I
am going to tell what you need to hear "LEARN"!

Don't mean to be harsh, but if there is something that you
don't know that you need to know to further your business
you either have to learn how to do it on your own or you
have to hire someone that knows how to do it to do it for
you.

There is no magic pill solution to this, but here is the
secret. If you take action to learn these skills you are one
up on all those people that stop because they want to do it
but don't know how PLUS you take the first step towards
taking total control of your business and it's direction.

The experience is priceless and will pay for itself many
times over, trust me on that one.

1. Create your own lead capture page connected to your own
autoresponder so that you can control all of the leads that
you generate. Focus the lead capture page on a big desire or
problem that you market has and then redirect your opt ins

2. Send traffic to your lead capture page. PPC is good to
start with, but writing articles is a great long term
solution if done in volume.

3. Once people opt into your lead capture page develop a
relationship with them and over time the right people will
raise their hand to join you in your calling.

Keep it simple and plug along and you will succeed!

I suppose my and many other's burning question might be.
"Can I make money
on the internet" But that would only be part of the
question. Because the
answer might be made by themselves and it might be as

Yes! I'm sure I can make money with the right tutor/mentor,
but my
question is, how do I choose the ones who are real from the
scammers? Even the
offer of money back is worrying .How to we be sure that this
would be honoured?

Thanks for the question.

The answer is yes you can make money online.

How do you choose who to listen to and who not to is a
little tougher question.

The answer is to do a little research online for the person
that you are planning on purchasing information from.

If they have mailing list get on it and see if what they
have to say makes sense to you and is something that is in
alignment with your goals.

The bottom line is, in the end you always have to take a
gamble.

There is no growth without risk. I've spent my fair share on
products online and some were good and some were not, but
the only way I knew was to purchase the product and put the
information into action.

If I try something for six months or more and it doesn't
seem to pan out then I take the time spent as experience.

In terms of refunds, I know I always grant them when
requested and have always gotten one when I personally
requested one.

I rarely ask for a refund because I know it takes time to
learn a new skill, so if I buy something and don't
immediately put it into action then I can't ethically ask
for a refund because I didn't even really test the waters
and if I do test the waters I give it a good go and usually
gain so much for the experience that I feel a refund request
isn't worth it.

The only thing I despise about people that request a refund
from me personally is that they usually ask for a refund the
day after purchase. I grant it, but I know that person
didn't even give the information provided a good run and so
they will always be looking for the pie in the sky which
doesn't exist.

Any information that is worth your time you will most likely
have to pay for. We all do. Any money you make is going to
take some learning and some work. That's just how the world
works.

So take action and then evaluate the results.

Can You Do It Part Time?

I am going to reveal something that you may find totally
shocking and it may even change your entire perspective on
the course of your network marketing business. This truth
has everything to do with the title of this email.

Can you build a large donwline part time?

The answer is YES!

How do I know . . .

Well that's exactly what I've done. Every email you get and
ever one of the 219 people that I've personally recruited
into my business has come on in a part time effort.

To this day I still hold down a full time job.

Shocking? Do you believe it?

Well it's true.

Whenever I speak to someone new coming into my business I
tell them to give me a call between 6 and 9pm because I have
a full time job.

Their reaction is always funny to me.

They pause and say . . . "Wait you have a full time job?"

I laugh a little and say yes.

Then they ask, "Why do you still work?"

Well the answer to this question is a little bit more
interesting.

I have still work for two reasons.

1. I like what I do.
2. It immediately reveals to people that they can have great
success and growth with a part time effort.

As a little aside . . .

I also love telling people that I make twice as much money
part time as I do in my full time job.

As the great Jim Rohn always says it's a powerful
prospecting tool to have such a story.

So I want to keep my story for as long as I can.

I hope this little truth has given you some new steam to
power your business in the time that you do have to work
and I also hope its set the bar a little higher.

I promise . . . If I can do it, so can you.

Now if I was on the phone all the time with leads I
guarantee this wouldn't be the case.

In my opinion, it's just too much leg work doing business
that way for the results. (Not to say it doesn't work,
becuase it does. Just not with my business model.)

My business would be less than half the size it is now and
I'd have a whole lot more headaches, but doing things online
has really given me the power to leverage all of my
resources in a very powerful way that creates big results
quickly.

Bigger Or Better?

Yesterday I was listening to one of my many personal
development audios while driving and I focused in on one
very important topic discussed.

The speaker was talking about the essentials of taking full
financial control of one's life. He said that in order to
have everything that you want you have to help enough people
get everything they want.

Further . . .

It's not necessarily the quality of the service rendered to
others that we have trouble with in general, but rather the
QUANTITY.

This truth struck home with me because as I've watch my
team grow and leaders begin to emerge it's not the ones that
are meticulous about every detail of the business that do
the best it's the ones that take massive action that make
the big things happen.

It's all about your frame of mind.

For instance . . .

We do training calls every week and I get asked these
questions all the time:

"What should I do with the leads that don't join? Is there
any way to get them to join?"

I always reply the same way.

"Don't worry about them . . . Go get more."

I think sometimes we get caught up in the singular
interactions of network marketing to realize that it's NOT
so much about doing every little thing perfectly, but rather
getting your message out to as many people as possible.

My whole theory is . . .

Why waste time trying to change someone's mind when you can
in that same period of time and with the same amount of
energy find 20 more people that may be interested in what
your doing?

So for today I want to leave you with a little homework.

Ask yourself NOT how can I do it better but how can I do
MORE?

The Allegory Of The Store

Sunday was a beautiful day. I meant to get more work done
and actually send out this email, but I ended up taking
advantage of the beautiful weather!

I spent the entire day just walking around downtown DC with

run.

But enough about that . . .

What does the title of this email refer to?

Well the entire landscape of network marketing is changing
before our eyes and I'm not sure how many people are aware
of it.

Last week a got a call from my cousin. She said that she was
starting a business and she just wanted to get my opinion on
it.

Unknown to me when she called me back for the details I was
met by the voice of some guy I didn't know who immediately
tried to sell me on some network marketing opportunity over
the phone.

He asked me if "I kept my options open."

Which I replied yes, as it's smart to always keep your eyes
and ears open.

I also told him that I was very happy doing what I was
currently doing.

I entertained the call because it was for my cousin, but
this guy just kept on going with the hard sell.

Only when it was apparent that I wasn't going to give him my
credit card information for something I had never seen or
heard of he gave up and quickly tried to sell me on the
product.

This showed me that this guy knew what he was doing, but it's
the old school way.

Once you get a new person signed up in a business i.e. my
cousin. You immediately tell them to put together a list of
their warm market and they will call them do the sell.

The old warm market tactic.

Well that's all well and good, but it quickly turns people
off to the business because if I wasn't aware of what was
going on I would have quickly been offended by this tactic.

I mean you shouldn't ask someone to look at your business
and then get them on the phone with someone they don't know
who quickly tries to hard sell them on getting into the
business.

It just makes people mad and it quickly makes friend and
family not want to talk to you.

This is why people get turned of to MLM.

Here is where the allegory comes in.

This method of marketing is like dragging a friend to a
store that they don't want to go to under false pretenses
that has nothing in it except sales clerks who immediately
rush up and try to sell your friend on something they can't
see or touch and probably don't want.

Would you buy in a store like this if you were dragged to
it?

I wouldn't.

I like to go into a store on my own accord and then buy what
I want from what I can see.

What's better?

Being dragged to a grocery store and told to buy an apple
you can't see whether you really want it or not.

Or . . .

Go to a grocery store because you WANT an apple and then
browse the stores selection of apples at your own leisure
before choosing the apple you want.

I don't know about you, but I like the second option a lot
more because it's the natural way of things.

This is the next phase of network marketing and the basis of
my business model.

It's just natural and hassle free.

Let people find you who WANT what you have and then let them
buy when they're ready and your business will grow.

It's the smart and easy way to network market.

I may make some people unhappy by saying what I've just
said, but it MUST be said.

It's our business so let's do it our way NOT theirs!

Forget what your upline says about the best way to grow your
business and take some time to think about what I've just
said.

It all starts here!

It's time to write your own success story by doing it your
